The campus communicators group brings key communication professionals from around campus together to share and discuss strategic ideas, events and announcements. This is a collaborative network of communicators who are working together to elevate and enhance the reputation of UIC.

Onboarding for campus partners

Strategic Marketing and Communications hosts a two-part onboarding for new communicators in campus units and colleges. The goal is simple: build connections that will strengthen communications across UIC. Onboarding covers foundational information about SMC, goals and resources, and encourages communicators to share their priorities and needs.

Weekly Circle meeting

Strategic Marketing and Communications hosts a weekly meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesdays to gather campus communicators to discuss initiatives across campus. The meeting is meant to connect communicators, help align messaging and resources and provide a space for raising issues in need of discussion.

Circles of Excellence

As a complement to and extension of Weekly Communicators Circle, Circles of Excellence aims to align communications and equip every communicator with a toolbox of best practices, resources and support to inform, inspire and engage all audiences for the elevation of UIC.

Work requests

Campus partners and communicators may also submit a marketing project request, submit an idea for a story or news item on UIC today or submit a request to send an Announcement/Official/DDDH message. 

The Health Sciences Communicators Council

The Health Sciences Communicators Council is convened monthly by the UIC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs on the second Thursday of each month at 3 pm. This meeting unites all communicators who have an interest and stake in the communication of issues related to the university’s academic health enterprise, UI Health. The monthly virtual meeting aims to align messaging, resources and topical issues related to the publicity storytelling, event and strategic initiatives of the health system.
